Beyoncé Dazzles as A Lady in Red for Tina Lawson’s First Ever Wearable Art Gala

A very pregnant Beyoncé made sure to show her mother, Tina Lawson, support this past weekend while attending her inaugural Wearable Art Gala held at the Californian African American Museum. Beyoncé was an absolute vision in red and adorned yet another elaborate headdress, similar to the one she donned in her now-infamous maternity photos and during her Grammys performance this past February.

The superstar songstress, who is very pregnant with twins and expecting to deliver any day now, was a surprise attendee at the gala. Also dazzling in red was her daughter Blue Ivy, who wore coordinating outfits with her Mama Bey. Jay-Z accompanied his wife and child, looking smooth as ever while clad in a tuxedo.

The Saturday (April 29) festivities was also a chance for the icon to reconnect with her Destiny’s Child sisters, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Real life sister Solange made an appearance at the event as well.

Tina Lawson’s Wearable Art Gala was to benefit the WACO Theater Center. WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theater Center seeks to empower the minds of LA’s most creative artists by celebrating their art. The founders of WACO Theater Center are Tina Lawson and her husband actor Richard Lawson. Among the advisors listed on the advisor board for WACO are Beyoncé, Solange, and Kelly.

Beyoncé took to Instagram to further express words of support for her Ms. Tina: “I am super proud of my beautiful mother for creating such an awesome event. Close to $1 million was raised for The WACO Theater Center to benefit young people through their mentorship programs and the arts.”

In the photo, she continued to give praises and admiration for the most important woman in her life with the caption, “Mom, you inspire us all to be generous, selfless, positive, to have empathy, to love and to praise creativity in the world. It brought tears to my eyes to be a witness to what you and Richard have created together. WACO is a safe place truly Where Art Can Occur. I love you.”
