Vanessa Williams and Tichina Arnold are bringing the drama to VH1’s latest scripted series Daytime Divas. The show follows Vanessa Williams’ character, Maxine, the host and creator of a popular talk show “The Lunch Hour”, along with her co-hosts Mo, Nina, Kibby, and Heather. Although the ladies seem like friends onscreen, once the cameras stop rolling, they reveal their true colors, living in a world of power struggles and big egos.
Starring as Williams’ co-hosts are Camille Guaty (Scorpion) as Nina, Chloe Bridges (Pretty Little Liars) as Kibby, Fiona Gubelmann (Wilfred) as Heather, and Tichina Arnold (Martin) as Mo, who doesn’t seem too fond of Maxine if you ask me.
Daytime Divas is said to be based on former View co-host Star Jones’ book, Satan’s Sisters. The 2011 novel is set behind the scenes of a long-running daytime television show, recounting the daily catfights that erupt between the five co-hosts. “Some [of the characters] are selfish, and some are sweet as can be,” Jones said to Entertainment Weekly. “Every one of them has some aspect of my personality.”

Star Jones will serve as executive producer alongside Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva), Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler (Awkward, 90210), Suzanne de Passe (Sister Sister), Madison Jones, and Susan Levison, per press release.
