We’re only four months into 2017 and Big Sean already has plenty of blessings on blessings on blessings to be thankful for. The singer dropped his latest album, I Decided., earlier this year to much success. Amid that success, the 29-year-old also became the youngest person ever to receive a key to the city of Detroit. Sean Don has yet another accolade to join the ranks of a successful 2017. His first single from the I Decided. album, “Bounce Back”, is now certified as double platinum!
Upon its February release, I Decided. saw a debut at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The Detroit emcee has released a body of work that is sure to be a mainstay in the soundtrack of summer ’17 and this latest triumph only solidifies that fact. “Bounce Back,” which was released ahead of the album in January, went gold, selling 550,000 units. It has been a massive hit, selling more units and climbing the charts steadily as the weeks pass.
“Bounce Back” is not only RIAA certified double platinum, but it is also the highest-charting single of the rapper’s career so far.
Big Sean took to his Instagram to celebrate his win amongst his fans and showed gratitude with his caption, “Thank yall for this, more on the way!!!”
Big Sean is currently on tour, wrapping up his I Decided tour. According to him, this is only the beginning of new music he has for fans and music listeners for the year. He and his girlfriend, R&B songtress Jhene Aiko, are in a group together called TWENTY88. The group saw success last year with the drop of their first collab album and plan to release another project towards the year’s end.
