Chance the Rapper, ‘SNL’ Celebrate Obama’s Last Christmas as President

Chance the Rapper has been having a great 2016- his album Coloring Book has received amazing reviews and fans love it, he got a hashtag dedicated to him (#blackboyjoy), he’s personal friends with Beyonce and Jay Z, he’s been nominated for numerous awards…and to top it all off, he got to pay tribute to President Obama’s last Christmas in the White House on SNL with Keenan Thompson.

The hilarious skit took it back to the old school, remixing Run DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” and creating the new Christmas classic, “Jingle Barack”. Even Run DMC’s own Darryl “D.M.C.” Matthews McDaniels had to get in on the “Jingle Barack” fun and SNL cast member Leslie Jones brought some Salt-n-Pepa inspired style funk to the song as she rapped about her love for VP Joe Biden.

The parody was filled with funny-yet-sadly-accurate lines about Obama’s exit from office and Trump’s entrance. Here are some of our faves:

-“We still got Barack, so you know what that means? We shootin’ some hoops in high waist jeans”

-“Hey, kids, enjoy the presents while ya can, ’cause next year you might get a bomb from Iran”

-“Been drinking eggnog like I don’t care, I’m gonna hurt myself before we lose Obamacare”

-“Even Kanye’s endorsin’ him, got Obama back smokin’ Newports again”

We definitely suggest you take in the full, hilarious performance below (there’s even a guest appearance by Jesus):
