Steve Harvey Ending ‘The Steve Harvey Show’ to Start New Talk Show

steve-harvey-new-talk-showSteve Harvey is swapping out talk shows in 2017. The comedian and television personality is ending The Steve Harvey Show in order to make way for a new show with production company IMG.

Harvey’s decision comes as a result of his contract with media and production company EndemolShine North America coming to an end in 2017. The funnyman will be packing his bags and moving from Chicago to LA, where his new show will film, to prepare for its September 2017 premiere.

Deadline reports that “Because of the new location, the new show is expected to be more celebrity driven while keeping Harvey’s trademark comedy.”

The new talk show, according to The Hollywood Reporter, comes complete with a sweeter deal for Harvey including more creative control and “a substantial ownership stake in the show.”

The Steve Harvey Show has been airing since 2012 and in that time Harvey has made his name as a sought after TV host- he also currently hosts Family Feud, the Miss Universe Pageant and Little Big Shots.

Harvey’s new show will continue to be distributed by NBCUniversal Domestic Television. Also according to Deadline, the company is already “shopping it to other stations with the expectations that the new show will be taken on by the majority of stations that carry Steve Harvey.”
