Soul Train Awards 2016: Dru Hill Reunites, Brandy Receives Lady of Soul Award and More

soul-train-awards-2016 Black Hollywood showed up and turned up at this year’s Soul Train Awards.

The event was preceded by days of festivities during the Soul Train Weekend. The four-day weekend kicked off Thursday, November 3, 2016 and fans who attended were treated to performances by Jill Scott, Tyrese, Monica, Anthony Hamilton, Jazmin Sullivan, Bell Biv DeVoe; a special night of comedy with the cast of BET’s “The Comedy Get Down,” Cedric ‘The Entertainer,’ Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, George Lopez and Charlie Murphy; outdoor day parties; late night parties and more!

The The 2016 Soul Train Awards had even more treats for audiences, starting off with a Dru Hill reunion featuring the group singing their biggest hits including “Tell Me,” “In My Bed,” and “Beauty.” And yes- Sisqo did bring back the “Thong Song” for the night too.

Also during the ceremony, Brandy was presented with the Lady of Soul Award by 2015 honoree Jill Scott. After being honored by music executives and industry peers like Kenny “BabyFace” Edmonds, Jazmine Sullivan, Jhene Aiko and more- the lady of the evening took to the stage to perform some of her biggest hits including “Almost Doesn’t Count,” “What About Us,” “Full Moon,” “I Wanna Be Down,” “The Boy Is Mine,” “Talk About Our Love,” “Have You Ever,” and “Sitting On Top Of The World,” joined by MA$E.
