Dr. Dre Threatens Lawsuit Over Michel’le Lifetime Movie

dr-dre-michelle-biopicDr. Dre has gotten wind of Michel’le’s upcoming Lifetime biopic, that will give an untold side of Straight Outta Compton, including the alleged abuse she suffered at the rapper’s hands- and he’s ready to take legal action.

The R&B singer is working with the women’s television network and Sony Pictures to bring the story of her career as an artist on Eazy E’s Ruthless Records-and subsequent struggles-to the small screen in a movie titled Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le. It comes as no surprise that her ex Dr. Dre isn’t happy, but it turns out he’s so unhappy he’s threatening to sue.

According to TMZ, Dre’s legal team has already hit Sony with a cease and desist letter. In the letter Dre reportedly “flatly denies ever abusing Michel’le. It makes reference to the fact that they dated around 30 years ago and she never hinted at abuse or any type of violent behavior on his part. They also say she never sought medical treatment or filed a police report.”

The site also reports that Michel’le has been personally warned by Dre’s attorneys as well.

“If he would like to take me to court and sue me, then we should both do our depositions so we can get the story right,” Michel’le recently told The Huffington Post regarding Dr. Dre’s statement denying any abuse allegations at the end of Straight Outta Compton. “And I have witnesses, so I don’t think people are gonna get up there and say, ‘No we didn’t see anything.’”

Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge, & Michel’le premieres October 15 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
