Gabby Douglas Joins Judges Panel for Miss America 2017

Gabby Douglas is making the leap from competing and performing to judging! The Olympic athlete has signed as a judge of the the 2017 Miss America Pageant.

ABC announced that Douglas has indeed signed on to take part in this year’s pageant festivities and do her part to help choose the next winner of the prestigious title. “Miss America has been such an amazing event for so many years, and I am excited to have the opportunity to judge the competition this year,” said Douglas in a statement. “The contestants are a great example of strong women across America, and I especially look forward to hearing the platforms that each of them will represent!”

Joining Douglas on the panel for celebrity judges are actress Laura Morano Disney Channel’s hit television series Austin & Ally) entrepreneur Mark Cuban, actress Sara Foster (VH1’s Barely Famous), singer-songwriter Cole Swindell and former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes.

The 2017 Miss America Competition, hosted by Chris Harrison and co-hosted by Sage Steele, will air live from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, September 11 (9:00–11:00p.m. EDT) on ABC.
