‘Roots’, ‘Black-ish’ and More Land 2016 Emmy Nominations

The 2016 Emmy Award nominations are in and this year’s list is filled with a diverse array of nominees that will make it quite challenging to decide who to root for, including Roots, American Crime Story, Black-ish and more.

The nominees were announced by Black-ish‘s own Anthony Anderson and Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham and saw the addition of some new names and faces in the Emmy noms department, like Black-ish and Roots, as well as the return of some who’ve been nominated before, like Viola Davis and Idris Elba.

Television dominates the entertainment conversation and is enjoying the most spectacular run in its history with breakthrough creativity, emerging platforms and dynamic new opportunities for our industry’s storytellers,” said Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum in a press release. “From favorites like Game of Thrones, Veep, and House of Cards to nominations newcomers like black-ish, Master of None, The Americans and Mr. Robot, television has never been more impactful in its storytelling, sheer breadth of series and quality of performances by an incredibly diverse array of talented performers.”
