15-Year-Old Memphis Student Earns Perfect ACT Score

ACT perfect scoreA 15-year-old teen shocked even himself when his ACT results returned with a perfect score.

Dwight Moore is a sophomore at Christian Brothers High School and told Memphis’ local news station that he was definitely pleasantly surprised when his scores came back, with an emphasis on the surprise. “I sat there in shock for a second. There is no way this is right. It didn’t have the writing score so I thought this was just a placeholder for later so I am not getting my hopes up when the writing score came out too, I actually got a 36,” he told the news station.

Achieving a perfect score on the ACT is an feat few get to boast. Less than one percent of students who take the test end up with a perfect score.

Moore’s school is proud of his accomplishment as well and put out a press release congratulating the student. “Please join me in congratulating sophomore Dwight Moore for his perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT,” said CBHS principal Chris Fay in the statement. “Dwight is an incredibly polite and humble young man, who is respected by both his peers and teachers. He is a model student at CBHS.”

According to reports, Moore has no college plans as of yet since he’s still a sophomore, but his scores will undoubtedly open a wide array of doors forhim when the time comes.
