Former ‘Scandal’ Star Columbus Short to Enter Rehab

Following a turbulent year, it seems as if Columbus Short is finally taking a step in the right direction.

The former Scandal actor is reportedly heading to rehab, according to BET. A source close to the actor confirms that Short will be attending an outpatient facility in the Los Angeles area for around 4 to 6 months. He will have to report to the facility a few times a week, and will be subject to random drug testing. He also has been given additional community service to complete, and is subject to jail if he violates probation again.

The 33-year-old actor has been the subject of numerous drug rumors following his exit from Scandal in April of 2014. His problems escalated this year when his wife Karrine Steffans kicked him out due to his drug use. Back in September, Short was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, two months of community labor, and anger management counseling after assaulting a man outside Gabe’s Bar and Grill in Los Angeles in 2014.

Short came clean about his alcohol and substance abuse problem on Access Hollywood Live and claimed that it was stress brought on my family issues and personal loss, that got him booted from Scandal.
