Beyonce Selling ‘Boycott Beyoncé’ Merch on Formation World Tour

Boycott Beyonce
The Boycott Beyonce movement just got a surprising supporter: Beyonce herself.

At the opening night of the Formation World Tour in Miami on Wednesday night, fans shared pics of “Boycott Beyoncé” merchandise being sold at the venue, including tees and phone cases.

The new merch seems to be Bey’s way of capitalizing on the Miami Fraternal Order of Police’s boycott against her. Back in February, members of the organization said they would refuse to work as security at her show at Miami’s Marlins Park because of the “anti-police message” of her Super Bowl 50 performance and “Formation” video.

Her Super Bowl performance was widely criticized for having an anti-police message which lead to numerous petitions encouraging people to boycott the singer.

Earlier this month, Bey spoke about the criticism against her in an interview with Elle, saying, “Anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken. I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe. But let’s be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things.”

Despite the call for a boycott, the Miami stop of the tour was fully staffed.
