2015 is nearly over, but Chance to Rapper’s year just keeps getting better.

The Chicago rapper, who is currently on his “Family Matters” tour, recently released “Angels,” a single from his forthcoming mixtape, which he said is the final part of a trilogy including 2012′s 10 Day and 2013′s Acid Rap.

Now, Saturday Night Live has announced that Chance the Rapper will be the musical guest on Dec. 12.

The rapper took to Twitter to express his excitement in a tweet.

“And I Will be the first independent (& far from last) musical guest on #SNL next month! Very special performance planned! #thirdmixtape,” he wrote.”

The good news doesn’t stop for the 22-year-old!

He was also one of five people named “Chicagoan of the Year” by Chicago Magazine.

The publication praises the emcee’s quick rise in the music industry, his family life and his concern for the community as worthy reasons for honoring him the award.
