‘Daily Show’ Host Trevor Noah Has Emergency Appendectomy

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is recovering from an emergency appendectomy that he underwent early Wednesday morning, Comedy Central announced in a statement

“Trevor Noah underwent an emergency appendectomy early this morning. We’re happy to report the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from the surgery,” the network said in the statement. “As a result, The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow.”

Noah took over The Daily Show on September 28. He succeeded Jon Stewart, who ended his 16 year tenure in August. Within his first four weeks of taking over,  the new host delivered double-digit growth (up 20 percent) among adults 18-24.

Get well soon, Trevor!
