Shonda Rhimes 1

The Shondaland reign continues. Shonda Rhimes has secured her seventh show with ABC.

According to Vulture, Rhimes will serve as the producer for a new series titled Still Star-Crossed, a drama that chronicles the aftermath of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths by suicide.

Still Star-Crossed, adapted from Melinda Taub’s 2013 YA novel of the same name, will explore how Shakespeare’s surviving Capulet and Montague family coped after the deaths of the young lovers.

Heather Mitchell, who writes for Scandal, will write and executive-produce, while Rhimes and Betsy Beers will produce.

There is no word when the show will make it to television screens.
