Emmys 2015: Uzo Aduba Celebrates Her Second Emmy Win

Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba has earned another Emmy.

The actress took home the award for supporting actress in a drama series for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in the hit Netflix prison drama.

“I really just want to say thank you a thousand times. If I could say thank you a thousand times, it would not be enough,” said the actress in her emotional acceptance speech.

With tears in her eyes, Aduba  thanked Orange is the New Black series creator Jenji Kohan. “Thank you for creating this show, for creating this space, for creating a platform,” she said. She continued her thank  yous by adding her castmates, crew, agent, manager and lawyers to the list, adding, “I love you mostly because you let me be me.”

In conclusion, she thanked her family, and specifically her sister Chioma Aduba.

“I really just want to say thank you for my family, who have stood beside me my entire life,’ she said, addign to Chioma, present in the audience, “I am humbled to call myself your sister. I love you so much.”

This marks the second win for the actress, who picked up the Emmy for guest actress in a comedy series for the same role last year. Because the show was categorized as a comedy in 2014 and a drama in 2015, Aduba’s win makes her the first actress to win both a drama and comedy award for the same role.
