50 Cent Sued for Allegedly Stealing ‘Power’ Idea

50 Cent can’t seem to catch a break with the lawsuits.

According to TMZ, the rapper is being sued for allegedly stealing the idea of the hit Starz series Power from someone else.

Writer Larry Johnson claims he wrote a manuscript, “Tribulation of a Ghetto Kid,” and in 2005 and 50 Cent had access to it through Nikki Turner, who works for 50 at G-Unit Books.

Though the book was eventually published elsewhere, Johnson believes that Turner showed it to the rapper because Power is a carbon copy of his book.

In Johnson’s book, the primary character has a goatee… so does the character “Ghost” in Power. Furthermore, the writer says he uses the name “Ghost” as his pen name. Also, in his manuscript, the main character owns the hottest nightclub in Atlanta, while in Power, Ghost has the hottest club in NYC.

The similarities don’t only pertain to the main character. Johnson says in his manuscript the main character’s best friend has a short fuse, just like Tommy in Power.

Johnson is seeking $200 million in the lawsuit.
