The Golden State Warriors won their first NBA title since 1975, beating the Cavaliers 105-97 Tuesday night in Cleveland.
The Warriors took the series four games to two, winning the last three games over the Cavaliers.
Both Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala led the team on Tuesday with each scoring 25 points.
Iguodala was not in the starting line up for any games in the regular season, but was a pivotal player in the finals. For that, he was MVP of the finals.
“We are going to remember this for a long time,” he said of the win.
Curry has been a standout on the team all season and won MVP for the regular season.
“It makes it so much more special to have gone through some down years and injuries and transition from a roster stand point and to be able to sit here six years later from my rookie year and hold this trophy. This is an unbelievable experience,” he said in a post-game press conference.
The Warriors last NBA title for the Warriors was in 1975 when they beat the Washington Bullets in the finals with four straight victories.
