Snoop Dogg

If you are heading to this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, be prepared to hear a speech by the legendary rap artist Snoop Dogg. The coveted annual music event has tapped the O.G. rapper as a key note speaker.

“Multi-platinum artist and entertainment icon Snoop Dogg is at the forefront of pop culture with award-winning albums and songs, multiple films, lifestyle products, philanthropic efforts and digital ventures, including his YouTube original series ‘GGN News,'” SXSW announced in a statement today (Mar. 10).

Previous stars to give the keynote address include Little Richard, Smokey Robinson and Lady Gaga, but Snoop will be the first hip-hop artist to take on the role.

The keynote takes place on Friday, March 20 at 11:00AM in Ballroom A of the the Austin Convention Center.

That’s not all the rapper has going on these days. Snoop Dogg released the first single, “Peaches N Cream,” from his new upcoming album Bush earlier today. The Charlie Wilson-assisted single will be on his new album, which was produced by Pharrell Williams.

Bush  is slated to be released on May 12 via Columbia Records.
