Rapper Notorious B.I.G Remembered By Celebrities and Fans

Yesterday, March 9, marked the 18th anniversary of the day that rapper Christopher Wallace, better known as Notorious B.I.G or Biggie Smalls, tragically left us in 1997.

According to social media, the 24-year-old Brooklyn native was voted to be the greatest rapper of all time. On Monday, #RIPBIG became the No. 3 trending hashtag by the end of the day with over 25,000 tweets and a 145% increase in streams of the rapper’s songs on Spotify.

Eighteen years ago, Biggie was shot and killed in Los Angeles just one day before his sophomore album was released and six months after the death of his West Coast rival, Tupac Shakur.

To honor his legacy, Bad Boy Records CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs posted photos of the rapper and asked friends and fans to keep his friend’s memory alive by posting song tributes with the hashtag #Missingyouchallenge, where famous faces, fans and pals like Ray J, Bobby V and Tank stepped up to the challenge.
