Mary J. Blige Documentary To Debut At Tribeca Film Festival

A new documentary that chronicles the creative process as Mary J. Blige as she writes, records, and curates her 13th studio album will have its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

Directed by Sam Wrench, Mary J. Blige-The London Sessions documentary will feature behind-the-scenes footage of Blige recording with U.K. stars Sam Smith, Disclosure and Emeli Sandé over the 10-day period it took to produce her album.

The documentary will be featured as one of the festival’s spotlight films at the Beacon Theater, where Blige will take the stage following her premiere for a Special Screening series that pairs films with live performances.

The Tribeca Film Festival will be held in New York from April 15-26.
