Beyoncé Steps Up to Michelle Obama’s #GimmeFive Challenge

Beyonce Lets Move Video

Beyoncé is among the celebrities showing her support for the fifth anniversary of Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative.

First Lady Michelle Obama launched the Let’s Move! Initiative five years ago to fight the childhood obesity epidemic by educating kids on a healthy lifestyle.

Now, First Lady is asking everyone– including celebrities– to help her commemorate the anniversary by sharing videos of themselves performing five physical tasks or by letting people in on five ways they stay healthy, then call someone else out to do it, too.

Beyoncé quickly joined the challenge, uploading a clip that shows her doing standing oblique crunches, jump squats, lunges, and throws punches with dumbbells in the sped-up video.

“Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Let’s Move! #GimmieFive @MichelleObama,” Bey captioned the clip.

Michelle Obama regrammed the “Drunk In Love” singer’s post and wrote: “Double tap if you’re ready to work out with @Beyonce! #GimmeFive of your workout drills (or you’ll disappoint the Beygency).”

This isn’t the first time the singer has shown her support for the movement. Beyoncé joined FLOTUS on her mission shortly after the launch with a video remake of her single “Get Me Bodied” titled “Move Your Body.” The video, which features her dancing with kids in a school cafeteria, quickly went viral.
