Disney Announces the Return of ‘DuckTales’

This news will be nostalgic for children of the 80’s.

Disney announced today that the beloved animated series DuckTales will be making its way back to television in an updated version. The new series, which will be a part of Disney XD, will again star Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck.

DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,” said Marc Buhaj, Disney XD’s Senior Vice President of Programming and General Manager, in a statement. “It drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

Other beloved DuckTales characters returning for new adventures include Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuak, Flinheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys, Mrs. Beakely and Webbigail Vanderquack.

The original DuckTales aired from 1987-1990. The reboot of the show is set to launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels worldwide.
