Tracee Ellis Ross was chosen to grace the special double cover of ESSENCE magazine’s annual “Black Women in Hollywood” issue.

Showing her stunning beauty and killer style, the 42-year-old  struck confident poses for both covers. On the first cover, she wore an abstract Byron Lars Beauty Mark dress pair with Sophia Webster pumps. For the second, she rocked a Jay Godfrey frock and her own shoes.

Inside the issue, the actress discussed her excitement about being a part of another successful sitcom. Ellis Ross, who was recently named Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series at the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards, plays Bow Johnson in the hit comedy black-ish. The character is a doctor and happily married mother of four that manages to keep her appearance in tact.

“I like being the ‘hot mommy,'” she says. “Also, I find that on TV, marriage gets a really bad rap. It’s this thing that you never want to do, and the comedy comes out of what people hate about being married. What drew me to black-ish is that this couple loves each other and the comedy comes out of that.”

She continues: “I want to have a family, so until that time comes, this show is a brilliant substitute.”

ESSENCE‘s March 2015 issue is on newsstands now.
