Grammys 2015: Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams Win Big

The 57th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, Feb. 8, to recognize artists in the music industry. At the prestigious ceremony, both Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams were recognized with three awards each after having a great year.

Beyoncé’s self-titled surprise album shocked the world, and did record breaking numbers. The singer was rewarded with wins for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for “Drunk In Love” featuring Jay Z and Best Surround Sound Album.

Pharrell William’s contagious hit single “Happy” took over the internet and radio last year, and won the star Grammy’s for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video. He also won Best Urban Contemporary Album for G I R L, which features “Happy.”

Other winners of the night included Kendrick Lamar, who won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for his inspirational song “i.” Eminem won Best Rap Album for The Marshall Mathers LP and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Monster” featuring Rihanna. Toni Braxton won Best R&B Album Love, Marriage & Divorce. 

The Grammy Awards was hosted by LL Cool J at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
