Maya Rudolph, Jaden Smith To Join ‘Brothers In Atlanta’ Cast

Will Smith’s son, Jaden, and Saturday Night Live veteran, Maya Rudolph, is set to star as recurring guests in the HBO pilot Brothers in Atlanta, according to reports by Deadline.com.

The comedy centers on two best friends, Langston (Diallo Riddle) and Moose (Bashir Salahuddin), who are two struggling entertainers trying to navigate relationships and life in Atlanta. Rudolph will play Moose’s boss as a past-her-prime musician, while Smith plays a rowdy teenager with a suspicious income as Langston’s neighbor. This will mark Smith’s biggest TV commitment since 2006 should the comedy move to a series.

HBO originally ordered the Riddle/Salahuddin pilot in 2013, where the two starred as reporters trying to make it big in Atlanta. Although the pilot didn’t go to series, HBO kept the project alive by ordering a redevelopment with a production commitment attached.

Fantastic Four director Tim Story will executive produce and direct the pilot, which will begin filming in Atlanta this spring.
