Whitney Houston Biopic: New Clip Shows Her Proposal from Bobby Brown

Whitney Houston Biopic 5

It’s no secret that everyone is hoping the Lifetime’s Whitney Houston biopic does not turn out to be a train wreck like the network’s Aaliyah biopic. Well, the network has released a few clips, showing viewers what to expect when Whitney premieres.

In the exclusive clip shared with E! News, Yaya DaCosta and Arlen Escarpeta, who portray Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, take on a life changing moment in the couple’s relationship– the day that Bobby Brown proposed!

The young and cheerful Houston said yes without hesitation, completely unaware of the changes her life would have after their marriage.

In a separate and previously released clip, DaCosta is in the studio recording Houston’s classic hit, “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” as her producers sit back and enjoy.

Unlike the Aaliyah biopic, Lifetime acquired the rights to Houston’s music. They did not, however, obtain rights to her original recordings, so her songs were re-recorded by singer Deborah Cox.

Whitney is set to air at 8/7c Jan. 17 on Lifetime.
