Given the response from their first collaboration on the remix of Beyoncé’s song “Flawless,” it’s not surprising that Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj teamed up again to give fans another hot record. Minaj announced the collaboration when she released her tracklist earlier this month, and now “Feelin’ Myself” has hit the Internet.
Switching back and forth between singing and rapping, the dynamic duo take turns boasting about their much-deserved success on the new track.
“Changed the game with that digital drop / Know where you was when that digital popped / I stopped the world,” Beyoncé says referencing her surprise album release last year.
She adds: “Male or female, it make no difference, I stop the world,” then commands “World stop.” The music pauses until she allows things to “Carry on,” and the beat returns.
Meanwhile, Minaj lets any naysayers know that she is still the reigning Queen of Rap.
“Why these b-tches don’t never be learnin’/You n-ggas will never get what I be earnin’/I’m still gettin’ plaques from my records that’s urban,” she raps. “Ain’t gotta rely on top 40/I am a rap legend, just go ask the kings of rap/
Who is the queen and things of that.”
The Pinkprint drops on Dec. 15
