AMAs 2014: Jennifer Lopez, Iggy Azalea Steal Spotlight With “Booty” Set

They had ABC executives biting their nails about the performance of “Booty” at the American Music Awards, but Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea teamed up on the big stage for a fairly tame show on Sunday (11/23).

With expected twerking and grinding of their derrieres in sparkling tuxedo-style bodysuits,  the duo participated in their first television debut of the semi-risqué song.

Iggy may have received the most nominations of the night, winning two for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Album, but Lopez stole the show as the award show’s final act.

She may be the 45-year-old mother of two, but J. Lo certainly continues to turn up the heat as she transformed the Latin dance rhythm with seduction and flexibility. Her supposed comeback album June’s A.K.A., failed to outsell among the slew of other pop princesses that released albums this year, but by the looks of it, her set may have reminded us that she still ranks among pop music’s best performers.

Rapper Iggy re-issued her award-winning album The New Classic, as Reclassified today, which includes five new songs. Among them is “Beg For It” featuring Jennifer Hudson, “Heavy Crown” featuring Ellie Goulding and “IGGY SZN.”
