Halle Berry to Produce New Medical Drama for CBS

Halle Berry has just signed on for another series with CBS– but unlike her science fiction series Extant, she’ll take a behind-the-scenes role.

According to Deadine.com, under its first-look deal with CBS TV Studios, Berry’s production company 606 Films has sold it’s first project to the network.  For the project, she is partnering with House executive producer Katie Jacobs for another medical drama with an unorthodox protagonist.

Still, an untitled project, the series “centers on an enigmatic surgeon who imprisons himself in a state-of-the-art private hospital on the grounds of a prison.”

The series will be scripted by Larry Kaplow, who will also serve as an executive producer alongside Jacobs, Berry and her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

606 Films’ first-look deal with CBS TV Studios derives from Berry’s starring role Extant, which has its season finale next week.

As of yet, there is no word on when the series will air.
