CeeLo Makes Controversial Comments After Rape Charge

After pleading no contest Friday to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles, CeeLo Green took to Twitter on Sunday to voice his opinion on the matter with a series of controversial tweets that eventually lead him to temporarily shutdown his Twitter.

The former The Voice Coach, caused quite a stir online when he compared rape to a home invasion and implied that women can only be raped if she was conscious and remembers it.

“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent,” and noted, “Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”

Next, he posed the question, “So if I tried but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?,” before adding, “When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass. Where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?”

The “F— You” singer seemed to realize that he put his foot in his mouth when outraged followers flooded mentions with responses to his tweets.

Before deleting the tweets and temporarily deleting his account, CeeLo offered an apology, saying his tweets were “taken so far out of context.”

“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context,” he tweeted.

He added: “I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”

CeeLo was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service for the drug charge, but CeeLo seems to have condemned himself worse amongst his fans.
