Entertainment Company Files $50K Lawsuit Against Nicki Minaj

An entertainment company is suing global popstar Nicki Minaj for being a diva.

Well… not literally for being a diva, but for acting like a diva and being 90 minutes late for her one-hour gig. According to The New York Daily News, IMP Entertainment is suing the rapper for $50,000 after she showed up late and left early for an event.

Minaj was paid $50K to host an NBA All-Star Weekend event in February of 2011, where Lil Wayne, Drake and Trey Songz were also slated to make appearances. The contract requested the singer to arrive at Hollywood’s Siren Studios at midnight to do an hour-long performance, but she didn’t show up until after 1:30 before leaving the stage in less than 30 minutes.

Promoters now want their money back (and then some) to cover the cost of her hotel arrangements and other revenue lost through the deal.

Meanwhile, reports recently surfaced that Nicki Minaj will be taking the stage to perform her latest track “Anaconda” at the VMAs. The single comes from her latest album The PinkPrint, which is set to debut later this year.

Hopefully she’ll be on time to the VMAs! What do you think of the lawsuit? Do you think Nicki Minaj being a diva? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
