Some teens will spend the summer flipping burgers or being the lifeguard at the community pool, but the daughter of the president gets to hang out with Halle Berry as the production assistant for a new TV series.

First daughter Malia Obama tried out a day in the life of production on the set of the CBS sci-fi summer series, Extant, featuring Berry readjusting to life on earth after a year alone in space.

In 2012, FLOTUS told People magazine that Malia had “expressed some interest in filmmaking. Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies… but she is a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest.”

Lucky for this 15-year-old, she was able to dip her feet in the experience of a lifetime much earlier than most girls her age. Guess it’s one of the perks of being the daughter of the President of the United States?

Meanwhile, Extant marks Berry’s first major small-screen role since her 2005 film Their Eyes Were Watching God, for which she was nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Berry won both for her title role in HBO’s Introducing Dorothy Dandridge in 1999.

The 13-episode summer series will premiere July 9 on CBS!

We wonder which scene will have the presidential seal of approval…
