Staffer Who Leaked Solange, Jay Z Fight Paid $250,000 By TMZ, Fired By Standard Hotel

News of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala has been the topic of discussion since the video leaked on Monday, making it a trending topic and generating endless memes.

With the video footage of the family feud going viral, one can only assume that person who leaked the video made a nice chunk of change, right?

According to Page Six,  the female security guard who sold the footage walked away with a hefty reward. After “being shopped for five days to the highest bidder,” the tape was reportedly sold for $250,000 to TMZ, who released the video.

Of course, that reward did not come without consequence. The  woman is allegedly $250,000 richer, but she has been identified, fired and could soon be in a lot of legal trouble.

‘The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ,” said officials from The Standard in a statement. “The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies. The Standard will next be turning over all available information to the criminal authorities.”
