What already promises to be one of the year’s stand-out music events will up its antics at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards ceremony this year. The Estate of Michael Jackson created a spot in which it will feature a “world premiere experience” that will present the superstar “like you’ve never seen him before.”

It’s sure to be a thriller, but the finer details of the event remain under lock-and-key. Performers for the night include John Legend, Jason Derulo, Miley Cyrus, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, OneRepublic, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. As for the presenters for the ceremony, Wiz Khalifa joined Jordin Sparks, Kelly Rowland and others in Las Vegas on May 18.

The BBMAs provide a high-profile launch pad for MJ’s posthumous album “XSCAPE,” which come out May 13. It includes eight vocal tracks recorded by Jackson from 1983 to 1999, and has been “contemporized” with new music from leading artists in the music industry now.
