Tis the season!

This will be the second consecutive year Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant sits out during the NBA Playoffs, but he still knows how to get hype for game time. This basketball star took to his Twitter account to get fans excited for Lil Wayne’s “The Carter V” release, set to debut in May. He posted a tweet with the artwork image of the forthcoming album, saying: “Carter V season begins #carterV”

The two have always shared a mutual respect and friendship for one another, right down to Lil Wayne’s dedication of a song in honor of the five-time NBA champ. The rapper retweeted Kobe’s message and confirmed the cahoots of the big reveal on his Facebook page — Carter V is coming soon! Lil Wayne has been referring to this as his last solo album, but a recent interview with MTV reveals that a lumpsome paycheck of $25 to $35 million may just be the key to changing his mind.

Although no specific date has been announced for “Tha Carter V” release, expect it to be just as anticipated as the return of the Black Mamba.
