Robin Thicke Speaks For First Time Since Paula Patton Split

Robin Thicke broke his silence for the first time since Monday’s announcement that he and his wife Paula Patton have separated.

The “Blurred Lines” singer made a statement through his website Wednesday to address his split and the future of his current tour.

“I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me,” the 36-year-old R&B singer wrote.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington, D.C. this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.”

Thicke has cancelled a total of three shows in the midst of the recent split.

Prior to Monday’s announcement, Thicke had blamed the abrupt cancellations on vocal trouble.

“I never want to let down my fans but I have unfortunately lost my voice and cannot perform tomorrow night,” he said Thursday to USA Today.

According to TMZ, Thicke cancelled his Friday concert to fly to Vancouver, where Patton is filming her new movie Warcraft and talk to her face to face.

Since the split, Patton has not commented on the matter but was seen at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday noticeably missing her wedding ring.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton were high school sweethearts and married on June 11, 2005. They welcomed son Julian on Apr. 6, 2010.
