Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Separate

R&B singer Robin Thicke and actress Paula Patton have mutually decided to separate.

Thicke and Patton, who began dating at 14-years-old and married in 2005, announced the news with a statement to People Magazine.

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they said in a joint statement to the mag on Monday.

The couple has been known to exchange PDA anywhere they make an appearance together and to be very expressive about their love for each other. Thicke described his marriage to the Bagagge Claim actress as “the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood,” to Star magazine.

While there’s no confirmation that infidelity played a part in the breakup, rumors of Thicke’s extramarital affairs have been in the media.

The couple has one son, Julio Fuego, who Patton gave birth to in April 2010. No addition information has been given, such as if a divorce is in the works.
