J. Cole Releases New Mixtape “Revenge of the Dreamers” on His Birthday


J. Cole celebrated his 29th big with lots of surprises. Yesterday (Jan. 28), to start the day J. Cole took to Twitter to announce the launch of his label, Dreamville, in partnership with Interscope Records.

“This shit started back in 07′ summertime. Muhammad crib. (Check the logo on the back of the come up.) Dreamville partnered with Interscope Records (RIP Pac!),” he said. “Congrats to the Dreamville staff, the movement. This is only the beginning. Enjoy the tape!”

Cole followed the announcement with the release of his mixtape, “The Revenge of the Dreamers.” The 11-track mixtape features Dreamville artists KQuick, Bas and Omen.

Later that day, the held a What Dreams May Come show in New York City.While performing his Born Sinner hit “Forbidden Fruit”, Kendrick Lamar jumped on stage to surprise his friend and perform his verse. He also performed a short set with “m.A.A.d city” and “Backseat Freestyle.”

The night of surprises wasn’t over for J. Cole just yet. During the show, Jay Z showed up and took the stage to perform “P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement).” Before Jay closed his surprise set with “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” he gifted his Roc Nation artist with his Roc-A-Fella chain.

“That on your neck is my original Roc chain, and it’s yours,” Jay Z told the birthday boy.

After the show and night of surprises, Cole simply tweeted, “Unreal.”
