Jay Z Named in $600 Million Lawsuit Over Brooklyn Nets Name

Just when things were going great for Jay Z, he finds himself in the hot seat again. The rapper is among those named in a $600 million lawsuit over the naming of the NBA team the Brooklyn Nets, according to RadarOnline.

The plaintiff, Dr. Francois de Cassagnol, filed a pro se complaint with the Eastern District of the State of New York on Dec. 9, 2013 claiming that the NBA, Jay Z and developer Brice Ratner “fraudulently conspired” to use “loopholes” in the U.S. Patent Office so that they could use a term he says he registered more than ten years ago.

The plaintiff is asking for a juried trial and at least $600 million in damages.
