Jennifer Hudson, the 32-year-old “Dreamgirls” star, will be recognized for work other than her talents in singing and acting. In the People’s Choice Awards being televised live on CBS tonight, Jan. 8, will be presenting Hudson with the award for ‘Favorite Humanitarian’ by Walgreen for her involvement with the Julian D. King Gift Foundation.

The Foundation was created by Hudson and her sister, Julia, in honor of their slain nephew, Julian King. It focuses on providing stability and positive experiences for children of all backgrounds, so that they may be able to grow and become positive influences on their communities.

“Thank you for honoring me with the Favorite Humanitarian Award My sister Julia and I were raised with the belief that helping others was always very important. I am grateful that the People’s Choice Awards and Walgreens have come together in the same spirit,” said Hudson regarding the award. She hopes that the award will welcome a spotlight on the foundation and give them the opportunity to share more about all the work the Julian D. King Gift Foundation does.

The award comes with a $100,000 donation to the organization being recognized. Customers can help increase the donation by up to an additional $100,000 by clicking on the People’s Choice Awards icon on Walgreens’ mobile app starting tomorrow.
