Rihanna, Drake, Kanye & More, Most Illegally Downloaded Artists of 2013

According to Rolling Stone, Rihanna and Bruno Mars were illegally downloaded more than any other artist in 2013. Musicmetric reported that both pop stars were illegally downloaded over five million times. Drake, Jay-Z,  Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Eminem were also high on the list for online music streamers.

Most of these artist have been on the most pirated list in previous years. In 2012, Spin reported Drake’s “The Motto” as the most-pirated song of the year and  “Watch the Throne,” Jay Z’s and Kanye’s collaborative album, as the most downloaded album. Watch the Throne had over 70,000 illegal downloads  in the United States alone.

Think that’s a lot of illegal activity? Beyoncé’s surprise self-titled album was pirated approximately 240,000 times in the first 10 days of its release!
