Grammy-Award winning lyricist and member of A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip, will be following in the footsteps of Pharrell Williams, Bill Nye and other notable celebrities as the latest curator to design a gift box for Los Angeles based subscription service, Quarterly Co.

Quarterly Co allows subscribers to receive gifts every three months from contributors they admire, ranging from celebrities, though leaders and innovators. Mitch Lowe, Quarterly Co CEO and former co-founder and executive at Netflix and Redbox, had this to say about inviting Q-Tip to curate his series, “For more than two decades, Q-Tip has been entertaining fans across the world, and we are excited to work together to give his fans an all-new experience through Quarterly. These gift boxes will provide unparalleled insight and access into the mind of Q-Tip.”

Each personalized package will be filled with items that inspire the hip-hop veteran accompanied by a letter explaining their significance.

In a statement released through Quarterly, Q-Tip says, “I love the power of social media, and the connection it gives to people all across the world, but I want to connect with people as an artist and create an authentic experience that shares a little of my world with them. It’s my hope with this project that I can share my genuine love for music, art and culture and touch those people who love that authentic connection too.’

Q-Tip rose to prominence in 1988 as one of the founders of A Tribe Called Quest, whose innovative, socially conscious themes and fusion of jazz and other genres forever changed hip-hop. He went on to have solos hits with the songs “Vivrant Thins” and “Breathe and Stop” before branching out into films, appearing in Poetic Justice, She Hate Me, and Cadillac Records.
