Kanye West Pleads Not Guilty To Battery Case

On Thursday, Kanye West pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft in a case filed over a scuffle with a photographer outside Los Angeles International Airport.

The incident took place in July between West and paparazzo Daniel Ramos, with Ramos claiming he was punched in an unprovoked attack and the rapper attempted to take his camera.

West’s attorney, Blair Berk, entered the plea on behalf of her client’s in a Los Angeles Court to the judges dismay.  She questioned why he could not appear in person.

A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 23. If found guilty West could face 6 months in jail for each penalty or a $1,000 fine.

West is currently on his headlining tour with Kendrick Lamar to support Yeezus which was released earlier this year. The tour ,which has had cancellations and postponements for various reasons including equipment issues, will resume on Nov. 16 in Philadelphia.
