Rick Ross Remakes Biggie Smalls Song On “Mastermind” LP

In an exclusive gathering last night (Oct. 29), Rick Ross invited a select group of industry to dinner to preview some of the tracks on his new album that is set to release in about seven weeks.

The room filled with about 35 people listened to a record inspired by Brooklyn rap legend Notorious B.I.G.

Ross says he chose this record because he feels as if Biggie could relate. At the opening of the song the 911 call audio that reported the shooting that threatened his life while he rode in his Rolls Royce in January. In 1997 Biggie Smalls was gunned down while riding as a passenger of a GMC Surburban SUV.

In the song that uses Biggie’s “You’re Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You) instrumental, Ross addresses the attempts on his life while French Montana sings on the chorus.

“You’re Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You)” was released on the deceased rapper’s Life After Death album in 1997.

The chorus of the original song features the lyrics, “You’re nobody, ’til somebody kills you. I don’t wanna die, God tell me why.”

The name of the song’s remake has yet to be revealed.

Mastermind releases in stores and on iTunes on December 17.
