The long anticipated launch of REVOLT TV took place at 8pm yesterday when chairman and founder Sean “Diddy” Combs officially turned on the channel from the steps of Notorious B.I.G.’s childhood home in Brooklyn. Following his introduction, the channel launched by playing its first music video, Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 hit “Juicy.”

“There was never a question about what video would be on the air when REVOLT went live,” said Combs. “Biggie and I had this dream. We set off on a journey together. He was my partner. He was fearless. He inspires me. And today, Biggie will help to launch REVOLT. Today, that dream becomes a reality.”

“We have spent the past two years building towards this exciting launch, and today marks the beginning of an amazing journey for us and for the music industry,” said REVOLT TV president Andy Schuon.

REVOLT TV also confirmed two live programs that will appear in early January, “REVOLT Live” and “Power to the People.” “We are embarking on an historical and important day, as we launch a live 24/7 music organization featuring the voices of the artist and the news of the music industry,” said CEO Keith Clinkscales.

Debuting on Comcast’s Xfinity TV and Time Warner Cable, the new multi-platform, multi-genre music network will roll out nationwide in Florida, New York, Los Angeles, with Chicago with other regions across the country launching soon.
