CeeLo Green Pleads Not Guilty To Ecstasy Charge

Social Star Awards Day-1

According to prosecutors, “The Voice” coach, CeeLo Green, slipped ecstasy to a 33-year-old woman while the two were dining at a downtown Los Angeles restaurant and then returned to her hotel room with her. She initially said she believed Green spiked her drink and that the “next thing” she remembered was waking up naked in a bedroom with him.

But in their statement Monday, prosecutors said they had declined to file a charge of rape of an intoxicated person, citing insufficient evidence. Instead, prosecutors slapped Green with one count of furnishing ecstasy to a female victim — a felony carrying a potential sentence of up to four years in prison.

CeeLo plead “not guilty” and quickly posted $30,000 bail. His next court date is on November 20.

NBC has yet to comment on whether Green’s legal troubles will be a factor in bring him back to “The Voice” for season 6.
