Obama Votes Early in Hometown of Chicago

President Obama took a break from a long week of campaigning to cast an early ballot for himself in his home state of Illinois, making him the first sitting president to do so in person.

While he is one of the most recognizable faces in the world, the president still had to present his photo ID when he cast his vote at the Dr. Martin Luther Kind Community Center polling place near his Chicago home.

Obama has stressed the importance and convenience of voting early and is hoping that practicing what he preaches will give him an advantage over Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
