Gabby Douglas Named Sportswoman of the Year

This year has proven to be a great for Gabby Douglas. After her gold medal winning performance at the London Olympics earlier this year, she is now being honored with the Sportswoman of the Year Award by the Women’s Sports Foundation.

The 16-year-old star has since appeared on award shows, magazines, cereal boxes and various television shows sharing her inspirational story that earned her a spot on the 2012 Olympic team.

Douglas has made it her mission to use her fame to inspire and motivate others. “I think that when you have a dream, you won’t let anyone stop you,” she said.

“So you just want to love what you do and have fun, because it’s your passion, so you just want to go out there, have fun and love it,” Douglas said.
