Morgan Freeman Charity Dinner In Sandestin Raises $80,000

Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman was the guest of honor at a dinner that raised $80,000 for the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center last month at a private home on the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

The dinner was auctioned off to Stephan and Lori Karian, who live in the Burnt Pine. The Karians invited 45 friends for the dinner, including 30A-area musician Geoff McBride, who was a contestant on this season of the NBC show “The Voice.”

Freeman wasn’t just a quiet dinner guest. At one point he sang a duet with McBride as the guests enjoyed their appetizers.
